A multi-stakeholder approach towards operationalizing antibiotic stewardship in India's pluralistic rural health system

Duration: 36 months

Country: India, West Bengal state, district South 24 Parganas

Principal Health Systems Research Questions:

1. How can a novel antibiotic stewardship intervention be co-designed with multiple stakeholders: informal providers, rural communities, formal doctors and veterinarians, key pharmaceutical actors and health and regulatory system representatives, to reduce and improve antibiotic use (ABU) for humans and animals by rural informal providers?

2. What is the feasibility and acceptability of this antibiotic (AB) stewardship intervention with a small group of informal providers, and how will it affect provider knowledge, attitude and practice?
